One of the largest agricultural exhibitions in Britain takes place at the Royal Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet in May/June, and the venue hosts a wide variety of other events throughout the year. Wells, Glastonbury, and Bath are all within a half-hour drive, and there are several family-friendly activities, such as Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, and the East Somerset Railway, within the same distance. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better holiday location, especially since the delicious local cider is the perfect beverage to unwind with after a day of touring this area of Somerset.
