About where you'll be staying

Locally known as Ponty, Pontypridd is the county town of Rhondda Cynon Taf in South Wales. It has been heavily involved in the heritage of Wales – it was the birthplace of the writers of Wales’ famous national anthem, Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, and legendary singer Tom Jones was also born here. The busy market town of Pontypridd is home to award-winning pubs and restaurants and is the proud home of the National Lido of Wales in Ynysangharad Park, which also features an adventure playground and regular funfairs. As well as a golf course, Pontypridd offers a local history museum and the dramatic Old Bridge, which welcomes you to the town. Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, is just 12 miles away. Dominated by its spectacular castle, the lively city is home to some of the best shopping in Europe, fantastic nightlife and Wales’ top attractions including the Principality Stadium and the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. Other nearby tourist spots include Brecon (31 miles away) and the Brecon Beacons National Park, Caerphilly, Bridgend, Barry Island and Ogmore.
