Locally known as Ponty, Pontypridd is the county town of Rhondda Cynon Taf in South Wales. It has been heavily involved in the heritage of Wales – it was the birthplace of the writers of Wales’ famous national anthem, Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, and legendary singer Tom Jones was also born here. The busy market town of Pontypridd is home to award-winning pubs and restaurants and is the proud home of the National Lido of Wales in Ynysangharad Park, which also features an adventure playground and regular funfairs. As well as a golf course, Pontypridd offers a local history museum and the dramatic Old Bridge, which welcomes you to the town. Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, is just 12 miles away.
