Tea rooms, taverns, restaurants, and other necessities abound in this modest Welsh market town, as do quaint shops selling local antiques and other mementoes of bygone days. Swimming pool and weekly cattle market are an additional perk of the leisure centre. “You can’t miss the Red Kite Feeding Station, which is located outside of town. One can see stunning dams and lakes in Rhayader’s Elan Valley and Claerwen Valley because it is located on the River Wye. It is possible to rent bikes in Rhayader and explore the Elan Valley on foot or by bike. There is also a visitor centre with a café and an outdoor children’s play area.
