Bainbridge, a lovely Wensleydale village, is located in absolutely magnificent surroundings just a mile and a half from Askrigg, well known to millions as Darrowby in James Herriot’s “All Creatures Great and Small,” and four miles from Hawes, the birthplace of Wensleydale cheese. The community of Bainbridge has a large village green with its own set of stocks. Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, castles at both Castle Bolton and Middleham, and, of course, Hardraw Force – England’s tallest single, unbroken, drop waterfall at 99ft! There are many attractive market towns and villages to explore, such as Leyburn and Middleham, to name a few.
