The attractive rural village of Lazonby is situated on the edge of the Eden Valley and North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The River Eden meanders through the bottom of the village and this area is famous for canoeing, trout and salmon fishing together with climbing, walking and cycling. Between Lazonby and Armathwaite is the Eden Gorge, one of Cumbria’s best kept secrets which is well worth a visit. Historic sites include, Long Meg and Her Daughters which is the third largest stone circle in England, and Hadrian’s Wall, both a short drive away. Ullswater, Keswick and Pooley Bridge are all stunning lakeside locations within easy reach.
