Many tea rooms, bars, restaurants, services, and distinctive boutiques can be found in Rhayader’s modest Welsh market town. Having a large swimming pool and a weekly livestock market as an extra plus.
Nearby the town limits, visitors should not miss the Red Kite Feeding Station. River Wye’s first town, Rhayader, is a great place to visit because it is home to some of the most beautiful dam-and-reservoir scenery in the country. The Elan Valley has a visitor centre with a café and a children’s play area, as well as a number of walking and cycling trails (cycles may be rented in Rhayader). Visitor-friendly wildlife preserves abound in this region, which is dubbed the Wildlife Centre of Wales. Pony trekking is an option nearby as well. The Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, the Spring Festival, and the Winter Fair are all hosted in Builth Wells each year. Alternatively, a 34-mile trip through beautiful countryside will bring you to the Welsh coast.
