Among the many picturesque towns in the Yorkshire Dales, Grassington stands out. A monthly farmer’s market features a tantalising selection of organic and handcrafted local produce, and quaint stone homes and stores line the cobblestone market area, providing remarkable shopping facilities for a hamlet of this size. Located on the banks of the Wharfe River and bordered to the north by the expansive Grass Woods, this is an excellent walking location. Bolton Abbey, with its ruined abbey, priory, and famous “Strid Walk,” may be found down dale. The picturesque town of Ilkley may be found not much farther on, with the world-famous Ilkley Moor towering over it. Kettlewell and Buckden, located up dale, are surrounded by breathtaking limestone landscapes. Grassington is a fantastic home base for discovering the surrounding area and everything that the Dales have to offer, including Bront Country and York, as well as the many other scenic areas found across Wharfedale.
