Wilsthorpe is a small village in East Yorkshire near the water. Located on the sand’s edge of Fraisthorpe Beach, this spot is ideal for a seaside getaway. The Belvedere Circle and the hamlet’s shop, pub, and café make it a pleasant place to stroll in the summer, and visitors can enjoy the scenery while eating ice cream before continuing on to Bridlington. As the “Lobster Capital of Europe,” Bridlington is a great destination for visitors of all ages. Spend some time exploring the picturesque Old Town and wandering along the waterfront, which dates back to before Roman times. The Augustinian Priory, Bayle Museum, and Harbour Heritage Museum provide a wealth of fascinating history and architecture to explore and were all featured in the 2016 Dad’s Army film, which was shot in this area. You can also enjoy the town’s many dining options, from cafes to restaurants to pubs, and then spend some time getting lost in the many different shops, ranging from boutiques to antique shops. The RSPB Bempton Cliffs Seabird Centre is conveniently located nearby; between March and October, half a million seabirds congregate there, making it a sight to behold even if only for the North Sea vistas alone. Hull, a port city with an aquarium, the Streetlife museum, and a warm welcome, is a great place to take the kids for a day trip, or you can visit York, with its mediaeval Shambles, which is home to quaint shops and a fantastic day trip for Harry Potter fans, as well as its Gothic-style Minster, which is rife with ghost stories and Viking remains. Wilsthorpe, nestled in the midst of a plethora of attractions, is a great base for exploring the rest of East Yorkshire and beyond.
