On the gorgeous West Somerset Coast, the well-liked beach town of Minehead is located in a wonderful, sheltered area beneath the magnificent North Hill. This friendly town has a mile-long esplanade that beautifully frames the golden beach, and the charming harbour, which is frequented in the summer by the renowned paddle steamer Waverley, provides good fishing chances. The West Somerset Railway offers historic steam train rides from the seashore. You may also visit Blenheim Gardens, which has won numerous prizes for its exquisite floral displays. Exmoor National Park, known for having the largest herd of red deer in England, is well worth a visit, as is the magnificent Norman Castle at Dunster, which is close. It also has wooded valleys, charming bridlepaths, and heather-covered moors.
