The two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme, as well as the town’s two waterfronts are what gives Llandudno its unique attraction as a tourist destination. There are two outstanding beaches in the town: the North Shore, which has a huge promenade backed by an impressive crescent of Victorian hotels, and the calmer West Shore, which has kilometres of sandy beachfront backed by sand dunes and amazing views of Anglesey. However, for the greatest views, you may take the Great Orme Tramway or an exhilarating over-a-mile cable car journey to the peak of the 679ft Great Orme. The promenade is only a short distance from the town’s excellent collection of stores, pubs, restaurants, and cafés. Venue Cymru, North Wales’ premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy, and visiting orchestras, also sits nearby.
