Sleights is a great destination for both coastal and rural holidays. It is situated on the edge of the stunning North Yorkshire moors region, which is popular with hikers and bikers, and is only 4 miles from the lovely Yorkshire coastline. The end of the North Yorkshire Steam Railway is only a short drive away, and Sleights is served by frequent public transit to and from the adjacent port of Whitby. Whitby, which is located at the mouth of the River Esk, is in a prime location for visiting this stunning region of Yorkshire. It is an intriguing village with narrow alleyways and secret passageways, a lovely port, secure sandy beaches, and, of course, the abbey, which is accessible via the fabled 199 stairs.
