The traditional village of Oughterard is found in the west of Ireland on the shores of Lough Corrib, at the start of the Connemara Mountain range and close to the famous Western Way. Only 17 miles from Oughterard lies Galway City, where you can discover some of Ireland’s long and varied history; visit Lynch’s Castle, or trace the origin of the famous Claddagh Ring, which originated in a village near the shore of Galway Bay.
