The small village of Mostyn is situated on the estuary of the River Dee, five miles from the town of Holywell in Flintshire, North Wales. To the north west of the village is Mostyn Hall and Garden, with the hall being a Grade I listed building which has been an estate for the Mostyn family for a number of centuries. The nearby market town of Holywell is home to the famous St. Winefride’s Well, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales, and the remains of the 12th century Basingwerk Abbey. Within reach are also four golf courses, including Pennant Park, which has a wonderful clubhouse and far reaching views over the River Dee and the sea. The Pennant Walk, Offa’s Dyke Pathway and The Clwydian Range are some of the walking routes available in the area, and the historic city of Chester, with its famous Rows, city walls and good shopping is within driving distance. Also within reach are the towns of Ruthin and Betws-y-Coed and the stunning Snowdonia National Park.
