The delightful village of Glasson, also known as the Village of the Roses, rests the quaint countryside of County Westmeath near its border to County Roscommon. The village’s Irish name is Glasán, meaning “small stream” and the village lives up to this name with a brook weaving through its centre to the renowned Lough Ree Lake. Glasson was originally built as an estate to serve the Temple-Harris family art Waterston House, the remains of the building can be found to the south of the village.
