Scarriff, in County Clare, is a large village located on the banks of Lough Derg. Situated near the shore of Scarriff Bay, one of the prettiest parts of Lough Derg, and surrounded by lakelands, Scarriff is renowned for its great angling resources. The East Clare Golf Course is a few miles away, while the East Clare Way, a designated walking route, is also nearby. The village of Killaloe is only 12 miles away, and provides great hill walking, boating, watersports and fishing. Lahinch is within easy driving distance, and provides great surfing, fantastic golf and a beautiful stretch of sandy beach to enjoy. A little further afield lie the Cliffs of Moher; one of Ireland’s most visited tourist attractions, the Cliffs of Moher offer stunning coastal walks overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and from the top they boast views out to the Aran Islands and Galway Bay. With plenty to keep everybody occupied within easy driving distance, Scarriff provides a great base for touring County Clare and the surrounding areas.
