The space

This spacious abode warmly welcomes you as you step up through the charming, pillared porch entrance. Take your time to explore the cosy sitting areas, and then kick back and relax because every little detail has been thought of for your comfort. The owner has even put together a delightful welcome pack with wine, milk, and some scrumptious homemade cakes just for you.

The library is a treasure trove with over 5,000 books and a cosy open fireplace designed by Charles Sylvester in the 19th century, and throughout the house, you’ll find exquisite furniture by Gillows of Lancaster. Unwind in one of the stunning drawing rooms, complete with dazzling chandeliers and a piano if you feel like playing a tune.

The Red Drawing Room even served as a film location for Emily Bronte’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ starring Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche. Make yourself at home by one of the many open fires, and soak in the rich history of this magnificent hall.

There are 17 elegantly appointed bedrooms spread across the first and second floors. Each bedroom offers fabulously spacious en-suite facilities or a separate bathroom close by. Individually named and furnished, the bedrooms provide a unique and characterful space.

Venturing to the second floor, you will discover the Penthouse area, complete with its own living space. Here, visitors can unwind with entertainment options including Sky TV, a PlayStation, a DVD player, and even a record player. A diverse selection of films and records is available for you to enjoy, ensuring a delightful stay.
