Llandudno is located between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme, and it is these headlands, as well as the town’s two waterfronts, that make this tourist resort unique. The town has two excellent beaches: the North Shore, which has a wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels, and the quieter West Shore, which has miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and spectacular views of Anglesey. To get the best views, however, take the Great Orme Tramway or a mile-long cable car ride to the summit of the 679-foot-tall Great Orme.
