The town of Llandudno is situated between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme, and it is these headlands, as well as the town’s two waterfronts, that give it its unique attractiveness. The North Shore, with its large promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels, and the quieter West Shore, with miles of sandy beachfront backed by sand dunes and wonderful views towards Anglesey, are the town’s two excellent beaches. However, for the greatest views, take the Great Orme Tramway or a mile-long cable car journey to the peak of the 679ft Great Orme. The town has a diverse range of shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, North Wales’s leading theatre stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy, and touring orchestras, with a diverse schedule – all within walking distance of the promenade.
