Old Colwyn is a small seaside village to the east of Colwyn Bay, a major coastal resort. From Old Colwyn to Penrhyn Bay, a wide promenade winds down the sweeping bay, providing access to a lengthy coastal cycle track, three miles of safe sandy beaches, and Rhos-on-pier Sea’s and port. The famed Welsh Mountain Zoo, Eirias Park with its great indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, a number of neighbouring golf courses, and a variety of restaurants and bars in both Old Colwyn and Colwyn Bay are just a few of the nearby attractions. Day visits to Victorian Llandudno, with its good shops, the attractive mediaeval town of Conwy, with its 13th Century castle, Bodnant Gardens, and the breathtaking scenery of Snowdonia and the Isle of Anglesey are all worthwhile.
