The majestic York Minster towers over the town centre. You will find the Jorvik Viking Centre, Castle Museum and National Railway Museum nestled in amongst the history of this most famous town. Grab a picnic lunch and enjoy an hour in one of York’s beautiful city centre parks; the Museum Gardens and Rowntree Park sit alongside the River Ouse and will provide a quiet interlude to your city break. For those that enjoy heights, why not take a bird’s eye view of medieval York from the top of York Minster, or traverse the narrow staircases inside Clifford’s Tower.
