This charming Ribblesdale community is located inside a National Park and is home to two pubs, a fine Norman church, and many charming traditional Dales buildings. The breath-taking scenery provides the perfect setting for fell trekking, and the famous Three Peaks Walk, Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough offer some of the toughest hikes in the nation. The community is traversed by the renowned Settle-Carlisle Railway, which also goes through some of the nation’s most breath-taking and inspiring highland landscapes. A steam train crossing across the top of the spectacular Ribblehead viaduct, which was finished in 1870, is an experience not to be missed.
