Over in the historic county of Berwickshire part of the Scottish Borders region, is the small village of Ayton, not far from the larger town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Home to a few local shops, a pub/entertainment venue, and a town hall with a clock tower, this village can offer everything you need for the essentials during your stay. Ayton Castle dominates the town, and is built around a peel tower, it was built in the 1850s in the Scottish Baronial style in red sandstone, and is well worth visiting and walking around the lovely grounds. Around 10-miles away is the coastal town of Berwick-upon-Tweed with sandy beaches and beautiful riverside walks on offer, wander around one of the lovely parks or browse the Berwick Museum & Art Gallery for the afternoon. Ayton is a delightful village perfectly situated for enjoying the Scottish Borders.
