Portland Harbour and the craggy “Isle” of Portland, joined to Weymouth by the stunning Chesil Beach, are only a short drive away. Only 7 miles away lies Dorchester, the setting for Thomas Hardy’s “Casterbridge,” or travel along the lovely coastal route to Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens. Alternatively, simply drive down to West Bay and take in the breath-taking vistas of the Dorset Heritage Coastline.
