Chwilog is a peaceful little village on the Llyn Peninsula, near the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The Afon Wen river flows through the village and down to the sea, which is just one mile away. Criccieth is a short drive away and is a delightful seaside town with a 13th century castle sat on a rocky outcrop with wonderful views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. Stroll along the beaches, watch porpoises playing in the surf, or relax in the various pubs, restaurants and tea rooms, sampling the famous Cadwalader’s ice cream. Visit Abersoch, an attractive harbour village situated between two glorious bays. It is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. Water sports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Hell’s Mouth.
