Chirnside is situated on a bluff above the River Whiteadder, with breathtaking views of the Cheviot and Lammermuir Hills. A 16th century dovecot and a lovely parish church, thought to date back to the 12th century, are just two of the village’s many notable landmarks. The Jim Clark Rally, the only ‘closed roads’ event on mainland Britain, is held in and around the Borders every summer as a tribute to the village’s native son.
