Around 7 miles from Malham and its breathtaking limestone cove and scar is this picturesque village perched on the Aire River. The community has a few places to eat, including a great Indian restaurant, as well as a few bars, cafes, and stores. Gargrave is a great place to stay if you want to explore the surrounding area of Yorkshire, as it is crossed by the Pennine Way, the Pennine Bikeway, and the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Skipton, “The Gateway to the Dales,” is only four miles away, and it is an ancient market town with a historic castle and a famed main street. This area, just on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is fantastic for outdoor pursuits including hiking, biking, and sightseeing.
