Nestled between Grimsby to the east and the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the west, the quaint village of Waltham can be found. Best known as the home of the iconic Waltham Windmill, a popular, partially-operational flour mill popular with visiting tourists that dates all the way back to 1880, this charming settlement is home to the Waltham Windmill Golf Club and the GCMES Miniature Railway. Visitors can also find the Tetney Golf Club, the Bradley Woods, and the Source of River Freshney within a short drive of the village. Waltham houses a variety of shops, including the SPAR Kirkgate and the Lincolnshire Co-op Waltham Food Store which sell homely essentials, the pubs of The Kings Head and The Tilted Barrel, and a selection of restaurants and takeaways to suit every taste. For a day out, you’ll find a number of noteworthy locations within a short driving distance, including the seaside town of Cleethorpes with its lush eponymous beach and a train station providing access to nearby towns and cities, as well as the port town of Grimsby, which is home to the People’s Park, The Witches Circle hiking area, the Time Trap Museum, and the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre.
