These two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme, as well as the town’s two waterfronts are what give Llandudno its unique attraction as a tourist destination. There are two outstanding beaches in the town: the North Shore, which has a huge promenade backed by an impressive crescent of Victorian hotels, and the calmer West Shore, which has kilometres of sandy beachfront backed by sand dunes and amazing views of Anglesey.
Nevertheless, for the greatest views, you may take the Great Orme Tramway or an exhilarating over-a-mile cable car journey to the peak of the 679ft Great Orme.
The town has a wide variety of stores, pubs, restaurants, and cafés, along with North Wales’ top entertainment venue, Venue Cymru. A few miles away is the fascinating town of Conwy, a designated World Heritage Site where its castle dominates the skyline and from where you can discover miles of sandy beaches or head to Snowdonia National Park for some fantastic walks and hikes rewarded by breath-taking views along the way. Llandudno is a great base from which to explore the mountains, countryside, towns and villages of North Wales.
