Sherburn is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, but it was previously in the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. Sherburn is situated on the south side of the Vale of Pickering, immediately north of the Yorkshire Wolds, and close to the North York Moors National Park. Sherburn-in-Elmet is an excellent base for outdoor adventures in the North Yorkshire countryside, and it is also close to Scarborough and Filey. There is a Post Office, a pub, a convenience store, and a newsagents in the village, as well as a few other small businesses. The Great Ryedale Maze, North Yorkshire Water Park, Wykeham Lakes Fishery, Playdale Farm Park, Go Ape Dalby, and Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park are all nearby attractions. Spend the day at one of Scarborough’s beaches, visit the castle, and sample the excellent food available in the many restaurants and pubs, or travel to Filey and Filey Brigg.
