Sandford is a small and quiet village, 4 miles from Appleby-in-Westmorland. It offers plenty of fantastic walks and is well-placed for discovering the lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines AONB. In the centre of the village you will find a local pub offering good food. The historic town of Appleby-in-Westmorland lies in a loop of the River Eden and is overlooked by the Pennine range, with the Lake District Fells visible in the distance. Set at the heart of the lush Eden Valley and steeped in history, this is one of the loveliest towns in the north of England and was originally the county town of Westmorland.
