Betws-y-Coed, also known as the Gateway to Snowdonia, is the most popular inland resort in North Wales. This is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike, surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country. The River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west at Betws-y-Coed, and the area’s beauty is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools, and ancient bridges. The magnificent Swallow Falls, located where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm, are the most famous of all. The village has shops, pubs, restaurants, a miniature railway, a riverside golf course, and the Tree Top Adventure High Ropes Course, as well as being the beginning of the beautiful Conwy Valley, which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.
