Ulverston is a market town in Cumbria, which still holds markets twice a week. Ulverston is something of a ‘festival town’, with a variety of celebrations being held throughout the year, such as the Dickensian festival, walking and art celebrations. Ulverston boasts the only Laurel and Hardy museum on the planet, as the town was the birthplace of Stan Laurel. There are many shops, pubs and eateries in the town. Ulverston is surrounded by wonderful countryside, such as the Furness coastline, and, a short drive away, the Lake District National Park.
