Between the villages of Helmsley and Pickering is the charming old market town of Kirkbymoorside, which is situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. It is the hub for the nearby farms and villages and is a charming location with plenty of Yorkshire charm. Visitors can browse a variety of stores, including tea rooms, taverns, restaurants, and antique shops, whilst Wednesdays are market days. The charming villages of Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham, as well as the National Park’s great hiking trails and breath-taking scenery, are close by. The North York Moors Steam Railway, a must-do excursion for all visitors to the region, has its headquarters in Pickering.
