Borrisdale is a remote seaside village resting between Carminish and Glen Kyles, the Isle of Harris. The village is known for its beautiful wild scenery, local craft shops such as Harris Tweed and Grannie Annie’s craft shop, as well as the historic St Clements church, a popular destination for weddings and celebrations, and offers a wealth of attractions such as MacLeod´s Stone and the beautiful surrounding walk, sandy beaches, and abundance of wildlife. Dining options include the local restaurant The Anchorage Inn and you can stock up on essentials at the local convenience store. Just outside of the village you will find Leverburgh where you can embark on walks around Loch Steisebhat, explore more beautiful beaches or even take day trips by boat across to the Uist islands where you will find attractions such as Teampull na Trionaid (Trinity Temple Carinish) and Calanais Standing Stones. From here, you can also explore the Isle of Lewes and the Isle of Scalpay via causeways between the islands, giving you yet more hikes and beaches to visit.
