County Tipperary’s attractive village and harbour of Garrykennedy sits on the shores of Lough Derg on the eastern bank. In addition to the ruins of the 15th-century Garrykennedy Castle Port, the town’s waterfront features a playground, a modern harbour, and numerous BBQ areas, making it a popular stop for tourists. The award-winning Larkins restaurant and Roy Breen Public House are two dining alternatives, while the convenience shop in Portroe just south of Garrykennedy is a good place to stock up on supplies. Nenagh Castle, Nenagh Heritage Centre, a cinema, and supermarkets are all within a short distance of the property. There is a water park at Dromineer, a historic castle in Dromineer, and a boat trip of Lough Derg in nearby Dromineer. Killaloe is a little further south and offers even more water sports.
