E.E. Nesbitt’s renowned 1970 film adaptation of his novel, The Railway Children, was filmed in Oakworth, a little Pennine village just two miles from Haworth and overlooking the Worth Valley. In addition to being close to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth also features a lovely ornamental park and is conveniently located near Keighley, the county town. The Bronte sisters, who lived nearby in Haworth, were greatly influenced by the surrounding moorland. All of this is set against the beautiful countryside depicted in the novel Wuthering Heights in Haworth, which boasts an abundance of curious and antique shops, narrow passageways, and cobblestone streets.
