Tomintoul is the highest settlement in the Highlands, at 1160 feet above sea level, nestled on the northern slopes of the Cairngorms National Park. Tomintoul features a variety of shops, cafes, and bars, as well as a well-stocked local store and post office, and is conveniently located on the main road connecting Royal Deeside and the Highlands, making it an ideal base for exploring the region. The renowned Whisky and Castle trails, mountain biking at the Glenlivet cycle paths, fishing, shooting, treks along the Speyside trail, or skiing at neighbouring Lecht and Aviemore are all options.
