Sedgeford, a few miles south of Hunstanton, is located within the Norfolk Coast AONB. There are traces of Roman structures, Iron Age artefacts, and Neolithic flint tools, indicating the village has been inhabited for generations, dating back to the Doomsday Book of 1086. The village has a village hall, two churches, a post office, and a hotel with a pub and restaurant, as well as the River Heacham flowing through it. The National Cycle Route 1 passes through Sedgeford, and the Peddars Way is close by and simple to reach for keen cyclists. Heacham, a 3 mile drive from the coast, has a wonderful assortment of shops, pubs, and restaurants, as well as a golf club and two beautiful sandy beaches.
