The gatehouse enjoys a secluded spot at the entrance of the estate and is a striking, double-fronted cottage that exquisitely combines original architectural details with contemporary living. It’s perfect for a family or couples alike and highlights include a private garden, a master bedroom with a rolltop bath in the room and living areas with two log burners. Meanwhile, the estate grounds are perfect for a quiet stroll and the local Michelin starred restaurant, Pentonbridge Inn is sure to impress with its popular tasting menu.
This two-bedroom cottage is surrounded by woodland and retains original features including wooden ceiling beams. However, the style is modern and there are home comforts and luxuries throughout.
On the ground floor, the traditional layout, with separate lounge and dining room, offers the flexibility to socialise together or enjoy space alone every now and then too. The dining room has a table and chairs, while the lounge features sofa seating and a 40-inch Smart TV. Both rooms have a wood-burning stove. There’s a separate kitchen with utility area at the back of the house that’s equipped with an electric oven and induction hob, a microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, coffee machine, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
Off the utility there is a cloakroom with WC and sink. Upstairs, there are two well-proportioned bedrooms. The master has a king-size bed and a freestanding rolltop bath in the room to add that extra touch of indulgence. The second bedroom has two zip and link single beds (which can be formed into a king-size bed if required). There is also a shower room with WC and sink.
The cottage is the only one at the estate that benefits from a private, enclosed garden. It has a large lawned area that’s ideal for letting kids and dogs run round if you have them in tow. With a dining table and chairs, as well as a BBQ, it’s a fantastic place for lazy days outside, eating alfresco and enjoying evening drinks.
