Beal is a tiny hamlet in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, known locally as the gateway to Lindisfarne, and is in an ideal position for touring North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Beal has good access to all of the area’s attractions, with wonderful beaches, historic castles and Holy Island all within easy reach. Walkers can embark upon the Northumbrian Coastal Trail, which runs through Beal and down the Heritage Coast, offering stunning scenery along the way. Beal is within easy reach of both St Oswald’s Way and St Cuthbert’s Way and there are some great birdwatching sites nearby. Seahouses is close by and you can spend a day visiting Farne Island, where you may catch a glimpse of seals and puffins.
