Between Kington and Hay-on-Wye sits the charming mediaeval village of Eardisley, which is a part of Herefordshire’s well-known Black & White Village Trail. It features numerous black and white dwellings from the early 16th century, a 12th-century Norman church with a distinctive font, two bars, and a village store. The entire region is known for its stunning countryside, which offers wonderful opportunities for canoeing and kayaking on the nearby River Wye as well as superb walking, cycling, and bird watching. Only 5 miles away is the small town of Kington, which offers a variety of good stores, pubs, restaurants, and tourist attractions like Hergest Croft Gardens, the Offa’s Dyke Path, the Mortimer Trail, and the lovely walk to Hergest Ridge, which served as the inspiration for both Elgar and Mike Oldfield’s music.
