The town was formerly one of the biggest in Wales, thus its magnificent church, and gets its name from the three standing stones known as “Harold’s Stones.” Many people come to see the three stones, the Virtuous Well, and the Tump Turret, a 40-foot mound that dates back to Norman times and is thought to be the remnants of a motte and bailey castle because of the village’s history.
