Primrose Cottage is a very elegant and comfortable home from home with sumptuous interiors and cosy touches including an inglenook fireplace. There are stunning, uninterrupted views over the North York Moors National Park too. This is the ideal place to take life easy and indulge. You’ll be greeted by the smell of freshly baked bread – a complimentary loaf is provided, while for a slice of the local life, there’s a country pub and village shops within a 10-minute walk. Meanwhile, the town of Whitby is just a short drive away and makes a great day out on the coast.
At the heart of the home is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room which is a fantastic place to socialise. Relax on the plush sofas beneath one of the throws as you admire views through the French doors to the North York Moors. If it’s a bit chilly, there’s an inglenook fireplace with a log burner set up ready for you to light.
With a music system accessed via the iPad with complimentary Apple music, WiFi, a Smart TV with Netflix and a DVD and book library, there’s plenty to keep you entertained.
The kitchen space, with its granite worktops, Wedgwood crockery and Royal Doulton glassware, is equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and a dishwasher. Plus, there’s a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Meanwhile, the solid oak dining table invites you to gather for a family meal. If you fancy a tipple, for your convenience, there’s even an honesty bar.
Step through the French doors onto the large, glazed balcony furnished with a table and chairs and a BBQ to dine alfresco while admiring the incredible views. Wildlife, including deer and partridges, can often be seen too.
There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom occupies the entire top floor and has a king-size bed, plus a freestanding bath in the bedroom and an en-suite shower room. The other two bedrooms are on the first floor, one with a king-size bed and the other is a twin room (with zip and link beds that can be set up as a super-king-size bed if preferred). All bedrooms have a wall-mounted TV and a hairdryer.
There is also a walk-in shower room on the first floor. Both bathrooms have a heated towel rail and Elemis toiletries. In addition, there is a ground-floor cloakroom with WC and basin.
You’ll also find a host of thoughtful touches including umbrellas, binoculars and torches that you are welcome to borrow during your stay.
