  • Enclosed courtyard gardens with herbs, garden furniture and a barbecue. This is a safe enclosed space suitable for dogs, although chicken, guinea fowl and sheep can be seen beyond the garden (visiting dogs say this is better than the telly!).
  • Well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge per dog). Dogs receive a welcome hamper, towels, a toy and two bowls are provided. There is an outside tap for hosing down muddy dogs.
  • The historic building means that surfaces can be uneven and rooms are spread over 3 floors with the bedroom on the top floor and the bathroom on the ground floor.
  • The stone spiral staircase has uneven steps and low headroom. Stone floors to ground floor with underfloor heating, solid oak floors to first and second floors.
  • The property is situated on the edge of a working farm so please keep your dogs under careful control when outside the castle grounds.
  • Please be aware, there is no Wi-Fi at Scargill Castle, allowing complete escapism. Improved 4G coverage does permit some internet access to mobile phones.
