Bere Alston is a pretty village in West Devon that lies between the Tamar and Tavy rivers on the Bere Peninsular a World Heritage Site. This is a tranquil area perfect for walking, cycling or boating and close to Dartmoor and Bodmin Moors. The village has a pub with 2 small supermarkets, village shop/post office, (which serves fresh bread from a local craft baker), chemist, takeaway, (fish and chips and pizzas) and a butcher. There’s a children’s playground in a big recreation field. The picturesque Bere Ferrers, 2km, has a delightful riverside setting, a pub and a public tennis court. Lots more good country pubs and restaurants are within a 5 mile radius.
