Ninfield is a thriving village in the Wealden District of East Sussex, situated roughly four miles north of Bexhill-on-Sea and approximately the same distance from the historic town of Battle. To the west is Standard Hill, which is thought to be the place that William the Conqueror set down his flag or standard after the Battle of Hastings.
