Once a thriving village created around the Welsh mining works, this charming Welsh village of Tondu still offers a pub and general stores and is easily accessed from the M4 motorway. Nearby, Bridgend with its town shops plus the popular designer outlet village provide the chance for some good retail therapy or why not venture to the designer shops in Cowbridge for something a little more special? The outstandingly beautiful Welsh coastline beckons, with the seaside resort of Porthcawl boasting sandy beaches, a surf school, great fishing and a popular fun park. Ogmore-by-Sea on the other hand, offers a vast stretch of unspoilt beach and a local riding school offering treks along the sand. Nearby mountain trails offer thrills and spills for the bikers in your party, while an easy train journey will take you to Cardiff or Swansea for shopping, theatres, concerts, sports events and much more.
