A pre-Norman village with a shop, post office, and lovely walks along the Worcestershire Way. English Heritage owns Witley Court, a palatial 19th-century mansion with impressive fountains. The Hundred House Hotel, a Grade II Coaching Inn, collected agricultural tithes from 100 districts. Take a walk up Woodbury Hill to see an Iron Age Fort and stunning views of the Malvern Hills. Stourport-on-Severn offers cafes, shops, and charming black-and-white timbered buildings. The Wyre Forest is one of the country’s largest woodlands, and much of it is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Nature Reserve. The forest is home to woodland birds, moths, and adders, as well as footpaths, cycle routes, pony trekking, and a discovery centre.
