The charming town of Brampton, in Cumbria is stepped in history with its previous Roman occupation and Hadrian’s Wall. The centre of the market town hosts the 1817 Moot Hall and a motte to the east of the town, a 135 feet high building harbouring a statue of the 7th Earl of Carlisle. Travel a few miles to Talkin Tarn Country Park for 120 acres of woodland and a glacial lake. Gelt Woods is also within easy reach, which has the River Gelt running through it.
