The Bronte sisters, who lived in the village of Haworth, were inspired by the surrounding moorland to write their legendary books. It’s easy to see why Emily Bronte chose Haworth as the setting for Wuthering Heights, because of the town’s plethora of curiosity and antique shops, as well as its narrow lanes and cobbled streets, all of which contribute to the town’s charming historical feel. The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, the steam train featured in the film The Railway Children, is just a short drive away and offers a beautiful day out.
